5 two-cents make a dime

Here’s an assortment of opinions on several matters harvested right inside my very own head.

1. I can’t stand reading or hearing criticisms about the Iraq war. Scott McCellan should not be making money for being a coward and a liar. It’s sooo “too-little-too-late”. Where were these inquiring minds 5 years ago? Don’t tell me about the patriotic feel, and 9-11 and we-didn’t-really-know. We did know, and what’s patriotism have to do with anything. For someone who opposed the war from its very inception, all of the arguments feel like a re-run. Least fun I-told-you-so ever.

2. I have been feeling sorry for Alan Colmes lately. It happened two nights ago when I was watching Hannity and Colmes. They had on some southern-accented “comedians” who wrote some dumb book. Anywho. They were asked about the elections and one of them says, “Obama. He’s dangerous.” And into the stifling merriness of the segment, Colmes asks, “Why is he dangerous?”. One of them breaks character and seemingly with genuine thought, begins “Because I feel…” only to be cut off by Hannity’s “..and that’s all we have folks.” Sometimes a show is a parody of itself.

Anyway. Colmes. No wonder he looks dejected, gaunt and brutally skeletal. He’s hated by the right, and generally regarded as a giant tool by everyone else. It’s sad to imagine that he might be the person who he claims to be (liberal Democrat). It’s easier to dismiss him as a secret conservative.

3. Italy’s all fascist again? Okay no. But still, I had a sudden spurt of gratitude for America. No matter how flawed our immigration policies are (and  flawed  they  undoubtedly  are), nothing like this is happening here. And I do have faith that nothing like it will happen here.

4. I continue to be enthralled by the Clinton campaign’s alternate universe. I mean, they seem genuinely outraged at the turn of events. How is that possible? Did they not see this coming at all (despite a play-by-play prediction by literally everyone)? You know what needs to happen. Those lame-ass undeclared superdelegates need to declare already, and then fully seat Florida and Michigan votes. Then when states start violating DNC rules all the time, everyone will know why. Clinton. As I have said before, I am convinced Clinton has lost her mind, and the unraveling is gripping Youtube.

5. I must be on a pity-kick, because sometimes I feel sorry for certain die-hard Clinton supporters too. Like this insane, old lady. She probably did wait centuries for a viable white woman to run for president, and oooh… so close.
