Why Stephen Colbert continues to be my hero

Much before these things became standard, it was Stephen Colbert who handed Bush his ass at a White House correspondant dinner.  Where it stunned the attendants and turned a painfully grinning George Dubya a bright angry pink. A beautiful moment for which Colbert has my undying love.

Quote of the Day

At a recent Princeton Graduation Speech, Stephen Colbert tells it like it is.

You can change the world. Please don’t do that, OK? Some of us like the way things are going now.

and this.

I am not saying the world does not need saving…sometimes. But I’m just saying the job of a savior looks like a hard one. I mean Jesus only took this job to please his Dad. And he reminded us that to be like him you had to take up his cross, and follow him. Well.. to me, that thing looks kinda heavy. Wouldn’t it be easier to take up you remote control and follow me?

Watch (the first clip is funnier)
