What I did today

1). I briefly considered writing a post about white people and Clinton because of number 3, but I have reached my Clinton-saturation point. That might change, though. See number 4.

2). I got that one thing I said I would get. Yay! So for those of you who stopped reading my blog because I suddenly became elections obsessed. Well. That is about to change. I suppose it is possible that I will find myself cramped into that little cubicle, waiting impatiently for YouTube to stream through. Anyway, I am worried and happy. And worried.

3). I pissed off a bunch of feminists over at Shakesville. Go ahead, View the comments—I get called lots of names. Fun times. I don’t know whether to be proud or sad that I reduced a few self-proclaimed feminists into calling me a “sweetie” who “clutches pearls” and is trying to get “cookies from The Boyz”. By the way, they really really really like Clinton over there.

4). I was thinking about life and changes after my conversation last night with You. And that change is a good thing. We forget this when we live our daily everydays. I was reminded of this book. At one point, Dalrymple talks about Kirkpatrick’s years with Khair-un-Nissa and how he suddenly realizes that life cannot go on like this. That things must change. In Kirkpatrick’s life, this is not happy news.

Moral of the story? In the words of an Iowa City fake hobo who stopped me one day and said, “The only thing in life that is constant is change. So can you spare some?“. I could. I did.

coming bk from election blogs.. that is something i do look fwd to :) i missed ur old blogs…

As folks who are Obama supporters who didn’t have a lot against Clinton’s proposed policies, but did object to her tactics in the primaries, I can relate to the bashing you got out there in Shakesville. It’s kinda amazing how very few of those hardcore HRC’ites have anything substantial as a retort to criticism against HRC… so they often end up yelling … I’ve not posted too many comments on this issue but both my spouse and I have seen weird objections to BHO as a candidate from HRC’ites, and derision that we support BHO in social circles around here.

Hey AG: Thanks! I am still pretty pissed about the bashing I got from them. For two reasons. One, what you said. Exactly. And two. I feel duped by Shakesville. I was regular reader of that blog, and after I contacted the administrators, they basically said, “the content or quality of your comments do not matter, you deserved the harrassment that you got.” The biggest irony being that Shakesville has one of the most detailed comment policies I have ever seen. In the name of feminism, I get called a bunch of sexist abuse because I dared mention flaws in the Clinton campaign. Anyway, thanks I appreciate it.
