Was going to…

September 14, 2009

write a brilliantly witty blog post, but got side-tracked by everything else in life. Last night was madness in my neighborhood. Ganesha statue on the back of a truck with a 200-person crowd bombing the hell out of the road ahead. I have been through September in India for three years now, and I still gape open-jawed at the sheer volume of noise, chaos, crowd happily colliding with colour, food, music and our sleepy-eyed Ganesha… all on a narrow, 20-feet wide side street. Why more people are not dead around here continues to be a mystery to me (as it was my first day).
