Cherry Smith’s Private Love

October 15, 2010

Sometimes poetry catches you off-guard. Like a stranger who suddenly reads your mind. When this happens, I put it up on my blog for you to read and maybe share in that lovely feeling.

Private Love
By Cherry Smith

Our private love trembles to be enough
Where no rituals reward our desire;
Shy and weary we battle
For how we are
And map out shorter, safer routes
Through forbidden territories
Which grow large,
More dangerous.
